Team blue! William Lewis was born on December 29th at 12:36 a.m., weighing 8 lbs 9.6 oz and 20 1/2 inches long.
I went in to be induced the night before, doctor called my cell as we entered L&D and told us to go back home because computer monitoring system was down. She texted us at 6 a.m. and told us to go back. Started pitocin, labored all day, got epi that night. At around 10 p.m., I was fully dilated but nurse tried to let my contractions bring baby all the way down without a lot of pushing (due to my last labor trauma). Doc checked me at 11. Head was stuck on my narrow pelvic arch. I remember her saying she could feel an ear and she was glad my epi was working so well. Baby's heart started decels after contrax (okay during, bad after) so at a little after midnight, I was wheeled to the OR and had an emergency c-section.
Recovery sucks royally, but he's a champion nurser and I am already totally in love.
Best of luck to all you mamas in waiting. It's worth it!!
