You probably washed your hands and soap got under there. It's not unusual. I've also gotten it from a ring that wasn't 'solid' on the back. It had a deep channel around the inside and my skin got irritated by it randomly after years and years of wearing it.
I am having the same issue. I woke up this morning and had to take my rings off. I did put the band back on to go to work though. I thought I was have a reaction of some sort to the rings but I don't know......
My fingers get very dry under my rings during the winter too. I just take my rings over a few times a day when I put on lotion. Also, make sure to dry under there well when you wash your hands
DH actually went to the dermatologist about this, because his finger is doing the same thing from his ring. Derm said it happens to alot of people, and its an allergic reaction to the metal in the ring(even though no other rings have done this to DH's finger) he said if wearing the ring is really important to him, we should try putting clear nail polish on the inside of the ring. We did it and it's worked great. I have to reapply the nail polish every couple weeks though because eventually it peels off. HTH

My rings are really wide. I have a red rash under mine that itches. I think it is just were I wash my hands and water gets caught under it and irritates it. Its also kinda snug. I was thinking about having it "let out" but I am afraid it would be too big then.
Hello cjcouple, How did you reply with the other members post in your post? Trying to get the hang of the posting on here
I thought if I hit reply after the one post I read about the clear polish it would have done that...Thanks for your help!
instead of hitting reply on the post you want to quote, you hit the quote button. Just type below all the coded/quoted stuff what you want to say in refrence to it

As a jeweler - I see this ALL the time. As PP have stated, it is from washing your hands, and not taking your rings off to dry them. You need to FULLY dry your hands without your rings on, then put them back on.
Your hands will swell during the pregnancy DO NOT I repeat DO NOT put your rings on your finger when it is swollen. You will have to have it cut off...which is fixable, but kind of a pain for you.
Get a plain band, and wear it though your pregnancy, then once baby comes, and your swelling goes down, have your jeweler size your finger (it may change your size), and have your rings sized appropriately.
Also - PSA - if your rings are stuck on your finger, try Windex. I know it sounds silly, but it works, and it's what we jewelers use everyday. Much better than lotion, or anything else. If it doesn't work with Windex - have your rings cut off. Don't wait until it's over-swollen and painful. Either your jeweler or your local fire department can do this.

No rash for me, but then I work from home and I only wear them when I'm out side of the house.
But I did just want to say congrats and H&H 9 months!
This happens once every 3 months to me. Usually it?s from washing dishes. When this happens I take them off for a few days and moisturize.
That's a good idea! Thanks I hate not wearing my wedding rings!
I didn't have this problem before getting PG.
Congrats!
