i think it was  you who posted about a couple of restaurants downtown that you said were delish. DH and i have a couple date nights coming up so i want to try some new places:)  i tried searching for the post and can't find it.  would you mind sharing again?? thanks so much!

    Sure thing :) Here are my favorites - 

    Second Bar Kitchen is my new(ish) fave - I've had dinner there once, but dessert and drinks on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. EVERYTHING there, including the service is incredible.

    Peche is great for drinks. They serve food there, but I wasn't impressed the one time I ate there. The fries were amazing, but the other things I tried just meh. The drinks though, are spectactular. It's a pre-prohibition style bar, they serve absinthe, keep with the theme (handlebar moustaches, vests, steam-punk-ish) and I always enjoy it there.

    I had been to Frank a couple of times, but never to eat until this weekend. It was the perfect place to eat before seeing Willie Nelson. "Gourmet" hot dogs if you will. My meal was awesome.

    Just south of downtown is Olivia. Another place that I can't get enough of. The owner just opened a Fried Chicken joint off of South Congress. I can't wait to eat there. That's next on my list.

    Another place I want to try is Mulberry, it's at 3rd and Nueces I think. A little wine bar, but the food is supposed to be awesome, too. Unfortunately it's small and the only time I went there it was packed and we would have had to wait forever for a table.
