trying to expand eli's foods

right now he is so meat and cheese oriented. i have a VERY hard time getting him to eat veggies. I'd like to get him eating healthier foods......what foods did you give your little ones at 15 months? He will eat most ANYTHING if it comes on a sandwich...i tried a tuna sandwhich tonight (just a bit of tuna mixed with a little mayo to hold it together and he LOVED it) wouldn't touch beans though....what different foods do you/did you offer to 15 month old ? i can't hardly get him to even TRY anything new

Would he eat quesadillas? Try that with some black beans or chickpeas for added protein. Henry loves chicken meatballs-but I grate 1 whole zucchini into the mix and he eats them right up.

DD is a pretty picky eater with a limited diet. I tend to add veggies into any food I can (spaghetti sauce, meatloaf, etc) She also loves hummus and will dip veggies in that. Her favorites are cucumbers and carrots (I steam baby carrots so they're not too hard for her since she still has a hard time with some foods). And when all else fails, she dips veggies in ketchup. We don't do it on a regular basis but it does get her to eat.

Yeah, I remember that, except mine wouldn't eat any vegetables, cheese, or meat.

Recently, they've started eating more veggies. Peas were an early favorite. I would also try to offer him fish. Shockingly mine never objected to fish.

i have bought barilla veggie pastas, and serve those with red sauce and cheese.

i also make mac and cheese, but the sauce is pureed cauliflower or squash in a milk sauce with some cheese (far less cheese than if it were a traditional mac and cheese).

my guys hate sandwiches... but maybe a grilled veggie sandwich with cheese?

my guys also hate fish! they totally love veggies and will eat broccoli or string beans before anything else. i'm not sure how you serve him his vegetables, but i give my boys their veggies with butter and some salt, which i think they prefer to plain.

oh thanks for the ideas.....eli LOVES quesadillas with chicken and cheese....and since dh doesn't eat veggies or beans i hadn't thought about what types of veggies i could put in them.....thanks for the good ideas guys!!!!

oh and as far as how i serve them..i've tried plain, with salt, with cheese, etc....but as soon as he sees a vegetable (don't know how he tells what i is ...he drops it on the floor for the dogs
