Newbie and TTC after 2 CS

Hello all :D

I've been reading a lot on this website the past 2 days and thought I'd share my story and see what opinions you ladies my have. I've been asking my husband for the last year if we can try for another baby. He suprised me on Christmas by telling me we can try again. Here is my story....

In 2005 I had my first son via CS after 23 hours of labor. I was given a epidural when I was 5cm. I developed a temperature from an infection (I can't remember what kind) My sons heart beat wasn't stable so I was rushed to a emergency CS. He was born very healthy, his heart beat went back to normal.

In 2007 I decided to have a repeat CS because I was still scared after what heppened with my son. My daughter was born via CS as planned. No problems at all.

My recovery after both CS went smooth. At my 6 week check up after my daughter was born I decided to get and IUD. I've had one for 4 years now. I'm getting it out in the next month or so. I started taking prenatals again to prepair my body a little more. I've been thinking a lot the last few months about attempting a VBAC. My new worry is if I can after having 2 CS and also having an IUD. I don't plan on TTC for atleast 6 months. I would like a spring baby, plus I want to have a couple cycles without my IUD so I can get a better idea of how my cycles really are now. It took me 11 months to concieve my son and 5 months with my daughter. I know this is my last baby and so I really would like to experiance a vaginal birth if I can. If not I'm okay with that too.

Any thoughts?

  • My thoughts are that your dr can best explain the risks and benefits of a VBAC to you. They may feel the risks are too high after 2 C sections. Or the hospital/practice may have a policy that they don't allow VBACs in your situation. There's a lot to research, and IMO your dr can best guide you.
