Rhett has arrived

Remember last week when my LO's heart rate was way too high? Well my doctor scheduled me for an induction for 12/29 at 5 am. We got to the hospital I got hooked up and my water was broken by 8 am. At lunch time my doctor check me and I had only progressed to a 4. I was having terrible pelvic pain due to the position of the baby and my doctor suggested a c-section may be possible.

Well the nurse stayed in my room literally ALL afternoon because suring labor Rhett's heart rate was in the low 100s. I decided to get the epidural so I could rest anticipating that a section was coming. My doctor returned at 5:30 looked at my sweet baby's heart rate from the afternoon and decided it was go time. I was terrified began crying my eyes out-- asked for my sister in law and my mother in law came too (I was kind  of irritated with that) and she reassured me that this was much better.

Needless to say they saw my lady bits getting shaved and taught DH how to use the camera who was growing more pale by the minute. In the operating room they did not talk to me because DH was so sick. They kept telling him to sit on the floor if he thought he would be sick. At 6:12 pm that night Rhett was born! DH could not even get up to take any pictures of him so the charge nurse did.

I know we all say this but I have the most beautiful baby and feel so blessed! The hospital was great with my wishes and waited to bathe him until I was out of recovery. At birth he weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19.5 inches long, he has beautiful reddish hair, He handled circumcision like a pro and the majority of his cord fell off at the hospital. 

We got home yesterday afternoon and as much as I was dreading last night it went so well! As soon as I can I will get pictures on my profile. My avatar picture is of me meeting him for the first time on Thursday.
