Trying to Get Pregnant

Pomegranate juice.

I've seen a lot of you ladies mention drinking pomegranate juice to help thicken your lining. I checked the newbie link for more info, but I'm wondering if it has to be 100% pomegranate juice or if juice cocktails are okay. I checked in the grocery store today and all we have here is pomegranate-blueberry, pomegranate-black currant, and cranberry pomegranate. I'm sure those can't hurt, but if 100% is better, I'll keep trying to track it down.

Re: Pomegranate juice.

  • I usually just eat the actual pomegranate when I can get it. We occasionally get the 100% pom juice, but most of the time, it's the pom-blueberry juice or the pom-cherry juice. I drink 'em because I like 'em, but I don't know if the benefits are less. Interested in what others have to say, though!

  • I'm sure the mixes are ok. However, I'd be sure that whatever the mixes are, I'd be sure they're all %100 percent juice. If you're just drinking idealized sugar water then its useless.
  • Know im not supposed to be here, But I still lurk on this board ever since I got my BFP. I ate pomagranites a bunch when they started going on sale around Thanksgiving and I really think it helped. We tried for months to get pregnant and this was the only thing I had changed and it wasn't even on purpose.

  • Check the ingredient list.  Sometimes with those mixed flavor juices pom isn't the first ingredient so you don't know how much pom is actually in there.  I usually find mine at either Kroger or Whole Foods.

  • I was wondering the same thing too, but I stuck with the one that is all pomegranate. I figured, why take the chance of only going halfway on this whole pom thing.
  • I searched a ton for any medical research about Pom aiding in fertility, I didn't find anything related to the thickening of the lining.  It seems to aid in male fertility though.
  • wondering the same here...thanks for asking this question and for all the helpful responses to it  :)

  • I'm 100% POM juice all the way, its a little pricey but it doesn't have HFC's or anything like that in it that the mixes or cocktail juices usually do.
