So I really wanted to try CD. DH really didn't want to so I ordered some to try I was hoping he would learn to like them. We have about 9 diapers now but DH won't use them at all and we don't have enough to use at Day Care and don't know if they would even use CD. I like them but would like to invest and use more often if we're going to do it, as I barely have enough to warrant the tiny load of laundry.
Anyone CD without DH's support?
Re: So DH isn't into CDing
Yep. I do 95-99% of the diapering anyway, so he told me to do whatever I wanted and he would support me. But he finds them complicated and not something interesting enough for him to want to learn about. He will happily put one on DD if we're at home, but much prefers disposables, esp if we're going somewhere.
I still do it, and have quite the stash to show for it

My DH didn't really care one way or the other, but he got on board quickly when I told him how much we'd save, how much healthier they are for LO's sensitive bits and lungs, fewer leaks/blowouts, and how similar they are to use (he helps me stuff them sometimes, but he's always confused about what goes with what, so I usually just do it).
Plus, I wasn't going to purchase any disposables...sooo....
Like I suggested you in a previous post, you should be in charge of getting supplies for how you diaper and he should be in charge of getting supplies for how he diapers. If he wants to use disposables fine, but he buys them, stocks them, and empties the trash.
Buy a few more daycare friendly diapers to increase your stash to a full load of laundry. Even if your daycare won't use them, it will still make your life easier.
I guess you're all right I just feel like if I'm going to spend money on Cloth I want them to be used as much as possible. I wanted to do cloth to save money because sposies were just getting to cost too much. I don't have a lot to spend on more cloth diapers right now. But I guess Three of our diapers were gifts so every time I use them I'm saving money. And all but $10 of the rest of my small stash was purchased with a credit card cashback bonus so I guess I really am saving money!
I think I just needed someone to tell me it's ok if he doesn't want to do it and that I can just do what I want.
Thanks!!!
My DH wasn't on board but said if I wanted to try it than I could. He said he wasn't going to do any of the cleaning, etc of the diapers and doubted that I would even make it a week using them. Since LO was born, he has completely changed his mind. He loves them! ( We use BG AIO). He helps with laundry and is all over the diaper sprayer like it is a new favorite toy. Haha.
Has he tried using them at all? He might be surprised on just how easy they are.
DH was not a fan, but said if I wanted too, I would be responsible for all changes...
I had super sensitive skin and had to be CD'd when I was a baby. I had a stash before LO was born, but did not start using them until he was 4 months. I had some health complications after LO was born and just did not have the physical capability to do laundry.
DH is a total convert now. He LOVES them and hates using disposables. He was sad yesterday when I said we had to use sposies while we treated DS diaper rash (caused by antibiotic). He loves the fact they dont stink like disposables and that you cannot smell the poop through them...
I agree with this. If your DH finds it difficult, then he's not going to do it. My DH really didn't care, but I knew that the easier it was, the more likely he was so humour me. We have a stash made up of pocket diapers for this reason.
