Sharp, shooting pain in groin area?

Over the last few days I've felt this random shooting pain in my groin area. It's more to the side- like where my inner leg meets my pelvis region. It only lasts for a second and it's like my tendon is being punched or pulled apart quickly and then let go.

It's really hard to explain, but has anyone else felt something similar?

  • yeah, I've chalked it up to baby just kinda wiggling around on the ligament! Its super uncomfortable though.

  • Yes, for a couple weeks.  I figure it is my body getting ready!  I never thought areas could crack that have been cracking lately.

  • Not RLP. It's symphis pubis, although like RLP it is complely normal. I have experienced it as well.

I also had that too. It wS mostly in my left leg but it also would happen in the right as well. I spoke to the dr about it and she said it's likely the baby pressing on a nerve. I haven't had it since he's been born though so I guess she was right.

That's what I was thinking. My RLP (or what I thought RLP was) was much higher in my abdomen. This is much more localized to the pubic area. Glad to know it's normal, though!

Spelled it wrong. It's symphysis pubis, and you are correct that RLP is more in the abdomen, often up and down one side or the other.
