And here I was thinking I missed the smell of fresh laundry

**gag**  DD has a pair of pants on that someone else washed and returned to me, and they have so much fragrance on them that I might have to go change her into something else and wash them.

I was just thinking the other day that I kind of miss the smell of fresh laundry with regular laundry soap, but I'm now glad again that we switched.  I can't believe how strong that stuff is and how immune you become to it when you wear it all the time.`

  • I picked up something the other day from MIL's house & I wreaked the rest of the day from the detergent or softener smell. YUCK. And it made me all sneezy because I'm highly sensitive to that stuff.

  • I was visiting with my grandmother the other day and there was a spot on her bedspread so she decided to put bleach on it.  I closed her bedroom door because it was burning a hole in my nose.  My aunt, who was there as well, said "Nothing like the smell of clean".  I promptly replied chemicals do not mean clean.  They mean chemicals.  LOL

It is so funny how sensitive we become to smells.

  • I have to rewash stuff when I get it from other people all smelly like that.  I can't stand the fragrance.  It makes my eyes itch.

  • I have to rewash anything that daycare decides to help with and wash for us - it smells horrible to me. I've asked them not to wash anything and just send it home but they like to be nice... and they are, I just want to send them some better detergent :)

  • Whenever we stay at my ILs, the bedding gives me a headache for the first day or two.  We also end up doing laundry there (with two kids it's inevitable, no matter how much clothing you bring) and I always rewash as soon as we get home. Yuck.

  • I had a similar experience. I found a bottle of Snuggle behind the washing machine when I was doing a deep clean and I though, "Oh well just the towels." Nope. Horrible and the whole house smelled like it for days. I couldn't even get it out after a second fragrance free washing. Just horrible.
