Ladies,
I have to make a change. I cannot drop this baby weight. DS is 10 months old. I'm still breastfeeding and I've only managed to lose 12 of the 27lbs I put on during pregnancy (and DS was 8.5 so that's basically just him and the placenta/fluid... nice). Not to mention the 10 I put on during IVF. If I'm honest about it, not only am I not losing, I'm still gaining.
Anyway, it's REALLY affecting me, I'm very depressed about it (which just leads me to eat more) and I need to do something. I think WW is the program I need because - honestly - I eat terribly. Lots of junk food, I eat all the time and I definitely binge. It's quite disgusting really when I think about it. I'm ashamed. I need to cultivate a better relationship with food.
Here's my question: I did the online assessment and it still says I'm in the "healthy" range - the top of the healthy range, but still. Will they laugh at me? Not take me seriously? I know I'm not obese, but I need help. It's not just vanity, though I don't fit into most of my clothes and seeing photos of myself brings me to tears... it's that the habits I have are terrible and I am so fearful of the example I will be setting for DS.
I really don't know what else to do. I need to lose the weight and somehow develop a healthier relationship with food. I thought about doing it online but I need someone there to hold me accountable.
Anyone done WW before and have any insight??
thanks in advance.

I'm doing WW right now and have many times in the past so I pretty much know the program like the back of my hand.
To answer your question, NO, they will not laugh at you. There are so many people of all different sizes in the meeting- those who are obese, those who are overweight, those who need to lose only 10-20 lbs and those are simply maintaining their weight.
I'm so glad you're considering WW because it really is a great program. I can eat the same foods at my family, it teaches me to reach for the apple rather than those 100 calorie packs and it's so flexible.
I actually just started a blog (link in siggie) to keep me motivated because like you, I've been unhappy with the way I look. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you all SO much for responding.
I can't tell you how relieved I feel after reading your responses.
So glad to hear that it's worked for you and that I'm not alone!
ALY I would LOVE to be your WW buddy!
GreenEyedGal I'm so looking forward to your blog.
Now I've just got to find a meeting and pull the trigger.
Thank you ladies... SO SO SO much.
