Further along than I thought?

Hey guys! I have a question that I was hoping someone might be able to give me some help with!

I'm going for my first doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon - I am so excited! I think I am at 6 weeks but I'm not sure. I thought I was pregnant last month (during November), I had all the symptoms but only got a very faint positive. About a week and a half later, I got what I thought was my period, but it only lasted three and a half days instead of its usual 5-6 days. My husband and I kept trying, and I took another test three days before my period was due in November, and I got a positive. Do you guys think I should count my LMP from the date in October or in November when my "period" only lasted the three days?

Any opinions and advice would be helpful! Thanks!

  • I think you need an ultrasound to determine how far along you are.  I would tell your concerns to your dr.  good luck

  • Hmm...  Count your LMP as the first day of your last period regardless of it was normal or not (so in your case, November).  But also mention the discrepancy and uncertainty when you get to your appointment.  Perhaps your OB will do an u/s to confirm dates.  GL!

This. We can't tell you based on that information and no beta numbers. You need an u/s to determine it now.

  • Yeah an u/s is the best way.  My date based on conception was 4 days ahead of LMP and the baby is actually measuring a week ahead of LMP so the OB has moved up my EDD.
