No energy third tri

I just got into the third tri. I'm freaking exhausted. I'm still working out and that's not keeping my energy up like it use to. I'm eating well but man I'm tired. I am sleeping a solid 8 hours a night but I feel like I could sleep for days. Any tips on things to help or is this it? I have my GD test next Monday and they'll test my iron levels then.

  • My only advice is sleep.  Rest.  Lay around.  Give into your body asking for rest.

There will be a day, very soon, when you won't have this luxury.  Do it for yourself.  Do it for me.

  • Are you getting enough protein?  PG women need up to 70 grams a day (according to WebMD and a few other sources I can't remember).  When I wasn't getting enough I felt exhausted every waking moment of the day.  I was still eating "well" (veggies, whole grains, low fat dairy), but not nearly enough protein.   When I started adding more I felt better within a matter of days.

But I agree with LLCG.  The third tri is hard on your body and sometimes you need to slow down and rest.

  • Thanks ladies. I just hate sitting around but I guess I need to.

Yes I eat a ton of protein. I take in close to 90g a day

  • I have no advice but I just wanted to say that you aren't alone.   I feel like a walking zombie so I can't imagine what it'll be like once the baby comes.

That's great that you're getting in exercise.   What are you doing as workouts?  (Just curious, 'cause my lazy a$$ should be doing more.)

I do 45-60 minutes of cardio 3-4 days of week. Usually just walking. Enough to get the heart rate up a bit. I do weights 3x a week with my trainer. Usually a day of legs, a day of core and a day of upper body. We do a circuit of 4 or 5 different exercise 3x. I've been doing weights for a year now so doc is fine with it. I do feel like physically (besides being tired) my body has handled pregnancy well. I rarely have any aches. I also get a massage once every 3 weeks, so that helps too.
