Researching Doctors: BWH

Hello-
A dear friend of mine recommended Tracy Zinner at Brighams. As luck would have it, she is not accepting new patients. However, I am told Jeffrey Katz is available. Does anyone here have any experience with him, or second hand stories to share?
Also, I actually live closer to Emerson Hospital in Concord. But I have it stuck in my mind that Brigham is the way to go. Any one have any thoughts to share on that? Tradeoffs with distance, facility offerings, etc..

I am 30 weeks pregnant with twins and Dr. Katz is my doctor. I LOVE him. He's been practicing for 30 years so he's seen everything and knows what to expect, but also is very relaxed. What I thought was very telling is I have heard the nurses at BWH really like him. I think that is incredibly high praise. I would highly recommend him!
I go to Dr. Carolyn Cline who is in the same practice as Dr. Katz and Dr. Zinner. I recently had my third baby and was with this practice for all three. I've seen Dr. Katz a number of times over the last 4 years - when Dr. Cline was not on and I had to go in or Dr. Cline was on vacation- and I have nothing but good things to say about him. If I wasn't with Dr. Cline (who I also think is great). I would switch to Katz or Zinner (if she was taking patients).
As for hospitals, the Brigham is often ranked as the best in the country for maternity, why go anywhere else.

Yay! I am so happy to hear that you are happy with Dr Cline because I just found out I am pregnant and Dr Cline is the one to look over me
I also think BWH is the way to go!
I'm having my twins at BWH (I also work with all these doctors/midwives/nurses because I work in the cord blood donation program there). Dr. Zinner is wonderful but she is definitely not seeing any patients (I tried to get her also). I then picked Dr. Katz. He is a really great doctor, great personality, very caring!! I've seen him in deliveries and he's very good with the patient. I became high-risk after a lung collapse at 14 weeks and had to have a surgery to open up the bronchus in my left lung (radiation from cancer treatments caused scar tissue and caused the lung to close off). Dr. Katz, Dr Zinner, and Dr. Cline were all very helpful and caring to me. I ended up transferring to the high-risk practice per his recommendation because of what happened, because of a twin pregnancy, to be monitored more closely. I am due to have my babies before 35 weeks due to my lil girl having IUGR (so it's been a very complicated pregnancy. I am currently with Dr. Oxford (who is amazing if you need high-risk). I trust these doctors that I named every one of them are great! Also, Dr. Ackerman and the midwife Margot Stone Condry are amazing!!
I highly recommend Katz, Cline, Zinner though they are all great to work with and the nurses/other employees on the L&D floor that have recently had babies choose them also so that should say a lot!!
