Team Green - Nursery Themes?...Where are you shopping?

Good Morning!

I JUST started poking around the different websites (mainly pottery barn kids, target, and babies r us) and was just curious to know what themes you're thinking of going with - and where you're shopping? Though I've just started looking, I haven't found anything that's jumped out at me yet.

Happy New Year to you all!! :)

Re: Team Green - Nursery Themes?...Where are you shopping?

  • We were team green with DS and I was SHOCKED he was a DS...  not a DD but we picked out a very neutral/soft colored safari theme from BRU and it worked out perfectly.

With this new pregnancy, we're team green once again and because the bedroom is in the basement I'm thinking of doing a bumble bee pattern from BRU to keep the room bright.

  • I did so much shopping around online for team green baby bedding and finally just got flustered and decided not to do my nursery until the babies arrive.

Pottery Barn Kids, BRU, BuyBuyBaby, Baby Depot, Amazon, WalMart, Target, JC Penney, Macys, Sears....I think that's everywhere I looked. Hated all the neutral stuff!!

  • We are team green (for now) and even if we decide to find out, I am dead set on gender neutral nursery because we only have one extra bedroom. I actually went with an etsy wall-sized decal as my main theme-maker (from wallartdesign store), and then picked fabrics that match for my mom to make a dust ruffle and some throw pillows. Then I will just buy matching solid color breathable bumpers and fitted sheets.

My favorite themes, though, when I wanted to buy a bedding set were:
    Glenna Jean Domain
    Cocalo Sweet Latte
    Animal Scholar room set (https://www.amazon.com/Boutique-Animal-Scholar-13PCS-BEDDING/dp/B003MHUNBE)
    Monkeyin Around from ToysRUs

I also really loved the grey and light yellow rooms, but ours is already tan/brown and our crib is oak so I stuck with the brown accent colors. If I got to start from scratch I would have gone with grey and yellow. I also really like the idea of zebra print paired with a bright color, like green or yellow. Then you could add pink or blue easily when LO comes. Happy shopping!

  • We're doing the All Creatures bedding from Land of Nod, which has some very cute gender neutral ideas. We'll probably go with cream colored walls with green accents or vice versa.
  • We are going with a sea turtle theme inspired by our recent trip to St. Thomas where we got to swim with them!  Not the cartoony baby turtles you see in most nursery beddings and decor but a more realistic turtle (ha!)  I'm "working" with an artist on Etsy right now to come up with a wal decal and once I get the swatches in from babybedding.com, I'll be able to design the bedding to match.

I'm trying to get in touch with the barely there artist somewhere inside me... I hope it comes together!! :)

  • We live in a one-bedroom lofted apartment, so our baby will sleep in our 'office' nook under the stairs.  The crib and dresser fit perfectly!

Since our living room has a green couch, with espresso accents with beige walls, I found a wall decal on Etsy that is a leaf design with birds. We got it in chocolate brown to match the crib and living room furniture.  I have a few fitted sheets with unisex designs on the registry: bumble bees, stripes, animals, etc.

I'm not doing bedding because I keep reading bumpers and blankets are not safe until they are much older.

  • I chose DwellStudio Owls Crib Set. I liked the mix between the retro print and more modern, bold colors.

  • we are doing a pond theme, but getting a stripe/dot bedding theme from amazon and then painting murals on the walls to make it themed. Once baby is here we can add our own sex specific touches

  • we're doing a beach theme. I haven't found any bedding I like at the usual places, so Im going with solid colors for the bedding and then jazzing it up with beach theme decorations

  • I hate themes in kids rooms so I am decorating the nursery in the same mood as the rest of our home. Since I am so particular I am having to make the curtains, wall art and bedding.

  • I'm team green (for now) but LO will be sharing a room with DS2. I got my bedding and curtains from Ikea. Most of their stuff is neutral and very colorful which I love. Even if you don't have an Ikea close you could still check out ebay. A lot of people sell NIP Ikea items. They cost a little more than you would pay in the store but still a lot less than other baby decor items.

  • We won't be buying a bedding set (waste of money to me) just a plain sheet.  And baby won't be sleeping in there for a few months so we will do wall decals to decorate after birth.  The walls are ecru now so we'll just leave them.  Maybe a new curtain later too, but it's a really bright room so we may need a blackout anyway.

  • We are doing Giraffes.  I painted a mural on the wall, and our crib bedding is from from BRU.

The mural is a big tree with a giraffe trying to eat the leaves.

  • We picked out our nursery decor prior to finding out DS's gender, so it was gender neutral.  We went with a really bright safari theme and painted the walls a tan color. I was looking for pictures of it online, but I can't find it anymore...

  • I'm doing a bird theme. Walls will be yellow with a white silhouette of a tree and birds painted on it. Door will be grey. I am buying all handmade bird things on etsy, like a little nest with eggs, a birdhouse, a bird mobile, etc... Kind of a woodland bird theme, really. I'm so excited. I'll post pics when it's done.

  • Our walls are already a tan color, so even though we are not team green, we are doing green decor, and a jungle theme. Found a bedding set where the monkey looks like a sock monkey, and DH is going to paint a mural on the wall.

  • We are not team green anymore, but I still don't want it to look like Pepto Bismol is sponsoring my child's bedroom. I am looking on etsy and amazon a lot. If my husband gets on board, her room will be light French grey and sherbert orange.

  • We painted the spare rooms in our house a very light green when we moved in and the carpet is also a light green (doesn't clash though!).  Hubby is all about safari.  Ehhh I didn't really like any of them.  I liked the bumble bees from BRU but he didn't.  We liked a bear set from BBB but it was more of a settling for it rather than love it.  Then we found the Disney Simba set from BRU.  We didn't get the crib set but my MIL bought all of the accessories (lamp, valance, sheet, etc) for us so we are going with a Simba theme, I guess.  It was a compromise because I love the Lion King and he loves safari/jungle themes...
