backed up bowels? try this.

I just wanted to share this yoga move. It helps take the pressure of the baby of your bowels so that things can move along. I swear after I do this move 5-10 times, I have to go to the bathroom within 20 minutes. It has been a life saver for me, hope it can help some of you! (Don't let your back bow down in from the weight of your tummy, just keep your back straight, and go up again) I am no expert in prenatal yoga or exercise so do this at your own risk. It was on my prenatal yoga video so I assume it is safe :)

Re: backed up bowels? try this.

  • In the Bradley method you do the first two moves (no arching the back like in the last one) and it's called a pelvic tilt/rock.  They're really good for strengthening the abd muscles and taking pressure off the lower back and bladder.  I notice that when I do 40-50 right before bed I can sleep longer w/out having to get up to pee.

  • This excercise was also recommended by my midwife to help turn the baby when he was posterior. (That combined with chiro, and I'm not sure which it was, or if it was a combination, but it worked!)
