NBR: Hoarding.. I have never watched before but wow!

So I am from NC and was watching it tonight.  Don't know where this lady is from in my home state, but holy gaucamole!!  This was the worst thing I have ever seen.  Needles, trash, roaches, and black widow spiders.  It was just so awful I can't even put it into words.  Then she was blaming it on her kids.  I can't believe they had stayed as long as they had.  It was just awful.  Now, I feel the need to get my house cleaner!!

    I haven't seen the episode you are talking about but I've seen the show before.  It's crazy!  But I think these people have other issues.  I get crazed if my house is a little messy.  I can't imagine living like that!

    Yes, it is an illness!  Thankfully, this show had a good outcome.  I just don't think the mom took any responsibility which made me so mad.  I saw a house that was pretty bad when I was student on a home health observation.  The therapist I was observing warned me but it was just so gross.  Trash everywhere. Not quite this bad but still a mess!

    I am constantly amazed at the filth these people live in. It's mind boggling they aren't wallowing in their own vomit every day since that house would make me throw up. A lot.

    I have watched this show quite a bit and I think this is the worst episode ever!

    I cannot believe the spiders and the needles and the sanitary napkins...eww!

    That was the first episode i ever watched and was so grossed out. How do people live like that?

    I have only watched a couple shows but yes, it's amazing what some people live in.  It's a psychological illness.  Often they have problems letting go...fear of "needing something one day" or they have OCD type issues that get out of control (not all ppl with OCD are neat freaks!).
