Femara ladies...did it work for you and how?

With my first we did Clomid for 4 cycles, 2 of which I didn't ovulate and the other 2 did not get pg on. Then we switched to Follistim and trigger. This worked both times however the first ended in m/c...obviously the second gave us our LO.

Now we are TTC #2. Since Clomid never worked, we are trying Femara first prior to shots to try to save some money. We ARE doing trigger with IUI which we never did with Clomid.

My question is...on how much Femara did you take to ovulate and how much did you take to get pg. I have being reading some studies that 2.5mg is useless...and you should start at 5mg. I am currently on 2.5mg. Hoping for some reassurance!!

Is it sad that I can't remember my dosage? It has been what seems like a gazillion years ago...

Anyway, it worked really well for me...that cute little blonde girl in my siggy is a femara baby ;-)

I've done 5 mg per day for three cycles - one with OPKs and charting and the other two with ultrasound monitoring and a trigger/TI. The OPK one worked (DD) even though I ovulated on CD24 and had a really low E2 on the same day I ovulated (had b/w to see if I had already ovulated and to end the cycle). The second one produced one follicle but a lining <6 - trigger/TI = BFN. The third one produced two large follicles and one smaller one and a lining of 7.5 - trigger/TI - currently 11 dpo and BFN so far.

ETA: If this cycle doesn't work, we're moving to Femara + menopur (using Femara can reduce the amount of injectables needed). Then trigger + IUI.

I started at 5mg w/ no real response. Responded well to 7.5mg twice, the first time DH was in the hospital so we couldn't do IUI, the second time we trigger did iui and I got pregnant.

My second cycle on 2.5 of Femara + trigger + iui worked for DS. I have been taking it for 6 months now to have #2 but it's not working. We will be doing injectables next month.

I was the same with clomid (4 rounds two I O'd 2 I did not). I got pg on my second round of femera at 5mg. I think I started at 5 but can't say for sure.

I did 5mg for 5 days and then trigger at cd16 (that is when I had a mature folicle) + IUI. It worked and proff is in siggy.

Femara worked for me. I was on 2.5 mg and along with ovidrel and IUI, got pg on the first try. Good luck!!

We did 5 I think for 5 days and then per doctors orders we had to have sex for sevens days straight after the first positive ovulation test. GL!

I responded great to Femera. 3rd cycle was the one for us that worked, along with Met/Trigger and IUI.

My first was a Femara baby. We did 8 rounds of Clomid with t/i and just one c/p to show for it. We switched to Femara with trigger when we did our first IUI. It worked like a dream - I was on 5 mg. and I O'd EARLY (day 12) and everything went perfect.
