My husband broke down! Hah!

When I first got my BFP my husband was like, "no way I'm shaving your lady parts!!"  He was horrified.

Welp...I quit shaving because I could no longer see and it I've never been able to do it by feel. Last night he offered to help me shave. LOL

He couldn't stand the jungle anymore! I win.

Re: My husband broke down! Hah!

  • You are very brave.  I love my husband to death but I am not letting him get anywhere near my lady parts with a razor.  He has a hard enough time shaving his face! I have decided to try to continue doing it myself and then go natural.  I figure he's so hard up for sex he won't mind.

I thought this, too, but I was wrong I guess.

If he cuts me then the deal is off!!

  • HAHA!  My husband did it for me once before I was pregnant.  It was interesting.  I was terrified he was going to cut me.  He actually did a very nice job! lol

  • haha I would never let my dh do that I would be afraid he would cut me. He tells me when it gets to that I should go have it waxed. I have never had a wax down there so I don't think that will happen plus I don't want someone to see my stuff.

I would think the same thing except I have had two different female friends who went to the salon to have this done, and made them stop because it hurt so bad. They couldn't even finish it. I'm guessing we will be even more sensitive with increased blood flow to the area when we are closer to delivery so I'm thinking this isn't an option for me.

My DH agreed to shave for me when I need his help. I'm not sure he'll follow through but I hope so! Might seem silly or vain, but one of my biggest delivery fears is going into labor with a huge afro-bush and unshaved legs without time to shave them before going to the hospital!!

Your reply made me nod my head in agreement twice. First because I cried the other day while tweezing my eyebrows because it hurt so bad. It usually doesn't phase me, so I can't imagine getting waxed right now.

Also, I had a dream the other night that I went into labor before I'd shaved my legs so I was shaving them in the car on the way to the hospital. LOL...only a FTM would have a dream like that. I'm sure shaving my legs will be the LAST thing on my mind!!

  • That is hilarious...I don't think I could ever talk DH into doing that. I did tell him the other day that I need a mirror with a suction cup on the back for the bathtub to use when I can no longer see my business...he laughed, but I was serious ;-)
  • I do bikini and brazilian waxes all day as I own a little skincare salon. So here's my advice (both as an esthetician and a fellow PG): trim with an electric trimmer with a guard. If that is not enough, come to a reputable salon to get a bikini wax. If you've never had a brazilian, start with a regular bikini wax and work from there. Shaving when you're pregnant can lead to microscopic cuts and sometimes "things" can spread due to compromised immune system while PG. When I was PG with my son, I unknowingly spread a virus called molluscum contagiousum on my bikini line - no clue on earth how I got it since no one I know or my husband had it. Those little bumps were hell to get removed and left little scars. If you MUST shave, use a throw away razor and throw it away each and every time. Hope this helps! Also, I make my husband apply the wax and I pull it off! He thinks it is hilarious.

  • Although I am single and pregnant ... I was married and pregnant before, lost my baby at 18 weeks ... BUT what my dh and I did was get a trimmer thing from walmart like for mans facial hair ts like ten bucks ... Ne way put batteries in and he shaved me just fine! I'd never let a razor in his hand to my Parts...but the buzzer was perfect :) ... Now I use it since I'm single it's easy to do and quick!
