Because I don't remember how we decided past years...
Do we choose a location, and then choose a date? Choose a date, and then a location? Or choose both independent of one another (in which case I can post a new poll with date ideas)?
I think last year we had already chosen a city and then picked the dates based on when Easter was, college graduations (more expensive hotels/airfare), Memorial Day, Mother's Day, etc.
There really isn't a reason why they couldn't be decided simultaneously, that I can think of. Two years ago in Chicago, it was the last weekend in April and last year in DC it was the second weekend in June.
Thanks! I guess I'll just wait and see, I'm so anxious to go this year but we have SO many obligations through April and May I feel like it's pretty unlikely we'll be able to go. Poop.
I think we should do location, then date, as the first would highly influence the second.
For example: if Austin won, I'd suggest April, before it got too hot and muggy and to avoid UT graduation weekend. If Kansas City won, I'd suggest June so it would be warm but not hot, etc.
I agree location should be picked first. If something up north one it should be in May/June or early Fall. If Orlando wins I would say April/May or Fall.

my SIL did a GTG on a short 3 day (2 night?) cruise to the Bahamas, out of Florida. She said it ROCKED. You can chill, you can party... and everything in between. (and we could all smuggle booze on by the gallon, lol)
You can score those quick turn-around boats SUPER cheap (we use vacationstogo b/c the sort feature rocks) and people could go 2-4 to a cabin, inside cabin or live it up....
Just throwing this out there as a thought... party in one place ;-)
(obviously this would eliminate kids going...so I personally vote end of summer for something like this, grin)
