OPK Question

So I'm new to OPKs and this is my first cycle actually trying them. I'm 19 days into my cycle and can't get a smiley face out of the clear blue test. I don't chart, but I plan on starting next cycle if I don't get a BFP. If I get a late +OPK within the next couple days, should a pregnancy test be accurate on the day of AF since it hasn't technically been 2 weeks past O? I tried to search the bump for the answer and I really didn't find much. (AF is due on the 8th)

    There are a lot of variables with the OPKs.

    You may need to try taking them a different time of day. I found midafternoon to be best. Some people need to test twice a day to catch their surge. It might be worth it to buy the cheapy ones with the lines. The reason being, some people see a gradual darkening of the test line, so it can give you a better idea of when you're heading toward a +OPK.

    I would wait until your period was late to test, no matter what. That will be a good initial indicator of whether you may be pregnant.

    I posted a similar question a few days ago so I thought I'd say hi...

    It sounds like I'm in a similar situation to you so I can't really offer advice. Just wanted to let you know that I'm also on Day 17 and haven't gotten a OPK+ either (testing twice a day) but my period is due somewhere around the 10th/11th as well. I don't temp either but am just starting to because I can see how it would help in this situation. I was wondering if I even ovulate,and now am wondering about my luteal phase being short...a lot of wondering going on, I guess!!

     If you ever want to chat or compare situations - I'm more than happy to! I'm really new to all of this and have been lurking and researching a lot (not always smart I suppose) but someone to relate to would be great!
