How long did you wait post c/s? I ran up until the day before I delivered DS and if it had been a vaginal delivery with no complications, my OB said wait 2 weeks.
I'm dying with just walking, I'm so anxious to run again. I'm going crazy.
I was given the go-ahead to start light, short walks at my six week appointment, along with all other light exercising. That said, we had lots of snow, so I didn't really get back into running until the early Spring.
Was given the go ahead at 4 weeks. I admit I cheated a few times and I paid the price. It felt great running but then I had these horrible shooting pelvic pains-electric like. It didn't go away until about 4 months pp.
I started back at 6 weeks pp with #2. I had to ease back into it since I had been on bed rest for 11 weeks prior to delivery, so I started back with c25k. I did go to the Y a couple times to walk during my 6 week wait and paid for it. It caused lots of cramping and sharp pains at my incision site. Walking wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped, and it was hard when I would get the urge to run to keep a walking pace.
I wasn't allowed to run during pregnancy and I am itching to start again!! My 6-week PP appt is tomorrow - I am hoping they will let me start running again.

I started run/walking again at 6 weeks pp but even then I had some extra soreness in my low abdomen the next day or two. Just take it easy.. if it hurts, don't do it!
At my 2 week follow up, my doctor told me to start slow and if it hurts, stop. I ran up until the end of pregnancy and recovered from my c-section quickly. I was off of painkillers by day 3 and never took a prescription home with me.
At my 6-week PP appt yesterday, I was given the clear to start working out! YEA! She said that I am healing great, and that I should ease back into my running/working out by listening to my body. She also said that ab workouts are fine too...so no excuses now! I am looking forward to my first run since April of 2011!
