12 years ago, we were all looking at each other thinking "Well, don't we look foolish?" followed by "I wonder if we can return our bomb shelter". Man, how time flies!

Ditto. But what I do remember was spending NYE with my family, and because I didn't keep in touch with anyone from high school (a bunch of us didn't have email addresses when we left HS, for real), I didn't have any good party to go to, and I was sort of bummed out. I remember toasting with my parents and then going outside and watching the stars for awhile and wondering what the 2000's would bring. The answer was a lot of change, and not all bad.

I think I just felt my foot slide into the grave. 12 years ago I was a senior in college and had just had my gallbladder out after it ruptured. I went in the hospital on Christmas EVE and after two surgeries came home on New Years Eve. I spent the evening in pajamas playing board games with my family.
