Those who have switched to formula...

...did you find that your LO needed the same amount of formula as BM in a bottle? We are transitioning right now. I'm mixing 3oz of BM with 4oz of for ula and finding that he's spitting up a lot. He's always been a spitter, but I seems to be more than usual. He normally took 7oz of BM before we started transitioning.

  • When we switched, he was still a spitter and wasn't eating as much but yes, it was the same amount. What I did notice was that he could sometimes go longer in between feeds, not by much, but like 15-30 minutes.

Did you ever find that this resulted in your LO being fed 1 less time in a day?  Not that we're introducing cereal and formula at the same time, I feel like we're over feeding him if we maintain the same schedule. I don't want to over feed him, but I want to make sure he's getting enough to sleep thru the night, which he's been doing so well at.

  • Not at first but he did eventually. When he did, he ate more throughout the day so that he still STTN.
