How are you bathing LO?

DS is starting to outgrow his infant tub. His head sticks out a bit past the end, so when I rinse his head, water gets all over the counter. (Yes, I could solve this by just putting the tub into my bathtub rather than my kitchen sink.) Just wondering what you ladies are doing. As DS is one of the smaller babies on this board, I must not be the first to need a new solution.

I really don't want to bathe with him. He has a tendency to poo in the tub. Also, I'm pretty much always home alone with him at bath time, so there's no one to pass him off to.

I put the infant tub in the big tub, L sits up in it pretty well. Also I bathe my girls together, so I fill the big tub too.

We have been having the same problem. All we have is a huge jacuzzi tub and that would require getting in with him. Is your LO sitting up? Maybe let him sit up in the infant tub and bathe him that way?

We've been doing a dishtub in the kitchen sink since birth...buy yes, it's starting to be a tight fit for Stella. Now that she's capable of sitting unassisted as soon as DH gets the tub redone (he says that's on the list in two weeks) I'll get out the duck tub my cousin bought for her and stick it in the bathtub.

I usually take a bath with her, but the times when I don't i usually just sit her in the bathtub and kneel next to it. We have a mesh sling seat that came with her tub that she usually starts out in, but she's kind of over laying reclined and wants to sit up, so she ends up just sitting up most of the time with me holding her steady

We have one of the infant-to-toddler tubs and for about the last month or so we put him on the toddler side, which sits straight up. He's a decent length (27" at 6 month appt) and he still fits, but DH and I were just talking that there's not much room for toys in there with him, so I think soon we will get one of those bath seats that sticks to the bottom of the bathtub and bathe him in there.

We have that FP Whale Tub and have been bathing DS in that inside the big tub for months now. He's been pushing on his legs and raising himself up b/c he's tall. It's giving me a heart attack.

Alas, he doesn't sit up well unassisted yet (he gets distracted easily and face plants) so I can't use the inflatable duck tub. I've read on other boards that some moms use this foam cushion thing to lay down LO inside the big tub and only full it up to below LO's ears. That makes me nervous too but not sure what other alternative is out there.

ETA: DS was 29in at his 6mo appt a few weeks ago and even using the toddler side of the tub he seems to be right at the max :-(

We have the Primo Eurobath and the thing is a boat! We joke that we can use it to paddle to safety if we flood! So he still fits happily in it. D loved it so much that he preferred it to the regular tub until his 2nd birthday! We've always put it right in the regular tub.

i've always just put the infant tub in the bath tub. as soon as J could sit unassisted he was in the toddler side. now he's in a bath chair and LOVES it!

as for the pooping in the tub, can you try giving him a bath RIGHT 'after he's pooped?

DD sits unassisted and she's been bathing in the regular tub (she's too big for the infant/toddler tub - she'd try and pull herself up and out when sitting on the toddler side). So....I sit on the side of the tub with my feet in the water around her. She occasionally will use my legs to balance if she slides a little. So far it's working good.

I just started putting Jax into the big tub because he kept trying to sit up in the infant tub. We also only have a jacuzzi tub but there's a seat in there for me to sit on and I just have my feet in the water so I can catch him if he slips. The only problem I have is washing his hair so I put the infant insert in there for that. He loves playing with the bubbles and all his toy boats. I think he would play in there for hours if I let him!

I either use the kitchen sink or I take a bath with her. She sits up on her own. I thought of getting one of those bathseats but as much as she wiggles around I doubt she will stay in it. She's been out of the infant tub for awhile now.

He just sits in the regular tub with me kneeling beside the tub or sitting on the toilet. I bought a squishy non-slip bath mat.

It's probably worth noting that I never used the infant tub- he's been in the big tub or sink since the beginning. I found it to be a PITA.

We either shower with him, or we use theMunchkin duck tub, which we just got a couple weeks ago. We just stick that in the big tub and it's shallow enough and small enough that he can sit unassisted in it. He absolutely loves that thing and I can just sit on the edge of the tub without having to do any bending except to wash him.

I've been getting in the tub with her since she was about 2 months old. She had started splashing everywhere in the whale tub one day and we just decided to stop. We do different things...if I dont wanna get in with her I put the whale tub in our bath. This week Dh,Abbey and I all got in the shower together lol She loved it

She sits on her own in the infant tub, and we put the infant tub in the big tub, always have.

Since she can sit up now, we moved her to the big tub. We just put a towel or infant bathmat on the bottom so she won't slide around and make sure to carefully supervise her. She likes playing with her bath toys. The hardest part is washing her hair- we use little scoops to pour water on her hair and tilt her back a little so it won't go in her eyes (she's never a fan of this part).

Lo has been showering with me since she was a newborn. She hated the tub and would get too cold. I think she will continue to shower with me until she can really enjoy the big tub.

We put the infant tub in the big tub and have since she was about 10 weeks old and discovered that splashing was the coolest thing ever. Smile

She has been sitting up instead of laying down for the last month or so.

We used the bathseat that you can get at Walmart -- it suction cups to the big tub and has a bar to keep LO sitting in it when he was too big for the infant tub but not sitting up enough to make me comfortable. Now, he sits on a squishy bath mat and I kneel by the side of the tub.

This. But usually I lie him down on the towel and only fill the water to his ears.

She sits up in the toddler side of the infant tub that I put in the big tub. I hate it so much. Once she is a bit more sturdy sitting up I will bathe her in the big tub

this is exactly what I do, but I use a bath sponge. target has themf for under ten dollars. it provides a cushion for her and I can lay her on her back on it to dio her hair. sorry about formatting, I am on my phone.

we used the infant tub (in the big tub) maybe 5 times and then she started bathig with me, still does. No poo's....yet.

I did try the infant seat in her infant tub and she HATED it. Her butt kept floating out/up. It was a pain.

We have the Primo Eurobath tub as well. We've used it since pretty much the beginning and it's working great. Right now we put it on our bathroom counter (and drain it into the sink), but we have a decent sized counter. We'll probably put it in our regular bathtub when she switches to the toddler side.

We're still using the infant tub and I put it on the counter in the bathroom. Once LO can sit up unassisted a little better, I will put it in the big tub and switch to the toddler side. I think I'm going to treat myself to some sort of kneeler so I don't have to kneel on the ceramic floor.

We also have the Primo Eurobath. My DD has been in the 90th percentile for height from the beginning, so she grew out of the baby tub fast (head sticking over inches!). She couldn't sit up on her own yet, so we were at a loss. She would scream bloody murder when we tried using the big tub--with the baby tub or without it. I saw a post on here about "what tub do you use for big babies" and lots of people recommended the Eurobath. We bought it and she is back to loving bath time again.

At home we had been using the baby tub in the regular tub and we got this padded kneeler thing for us to use. On vacation we've been bathing her in the kitchen sink on top of a bath spongey thing and it's super easy, so I may start doing that at home once in awhile to give my knees a break.

Our bathroom has the old fashioned sliding door instead of a curtain so it's a huge pain to lean over since the runner thing cuts into your arms.
