hello...My RE left me a message to not stress or worry but my AMH is .6 My other results are in my siggy and seemingly normal for my age. My last antral follicle count was 5 on one side and 6 on the other. What exactly does AMH indicate? Could I be a poor responder to IVF meds? I'm feeling really scared at the moment. Ugh.
AMH is an ovarian reserve test. Your level indicates you have a lower amount of eggs left than "maybe" you should for your age. It really shouldn't indicate anything about the quality of the eggs you have left (age is the number 1 determinant of the quality of your eggs; the older we are, the worse our eggs generally are). You "may" be harder to stimulate with fertility drugs. Your AFC looks good as well as your FSH so it may not even be an issue. Unfortunately you won't know how you respond to drugs until you try. You may need a higher dose but you may not. Plus women get pregnant naturally with low AMH as well. You really only need one good egg. I know it is a cliche but it is true.
My AMH is .3 but my FSH is sky high and my AFC is like 1 or 2.. I don't respond to drugs unfortunately.

Hi ppl2011, Just thought that I would commiserate...Recently I switched REs and I was shocked when I learned a few weeks ago that at 36 my AMH is .16. Have been TTC for 1.5 years with a 3 month pregnancy (BO) in the middle and no one had tested amh until now. Previously fsh was borderline but that needs to be retested after the effects of the clomid I was on last month wear off. I'm also very scared!! On the possitive side they said I seemed to have a good response to clomid (though BFN) with 4 or 5 AFs. Apparently they weren't good ones. Just learning about all this also. Hang in there.
