Intro and a question about LO knocking out tooth

Hi ladies!  I have been around the knot/nest/bump for many years and spent a lot of time on TTGP last year, so I may "know" some of you.  I took a big bump break and think this is the most age appropriate board for my DD.

DD was playing on Thursday and fell, she hit her mouth on a chair and knocked out her top front tooth.  We have taken her to the dentist and the ER to get her lip stitched up, but we are concerned about her speech development.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  She is starting speech therapy Friday for speech expression issues, but had great articulation and pronunciation for her age.  I just wonder how much this is going to hinder her speech for the next several years.

Also open to any other information you can provide!  I am so sad that her tooth is gone, but glad it was nothing worse. Crying

TIA!

Re: Intro and a question about LO knocking out tooth

  • My DD had to get her top front tooth pulled recently.  We have an appt with a speech path next week to see how/if it will impact her speech with her missing a top tooth for the next few years. (She currently has no speech issues) DD goes to a pediatric dentist and they said that they would make her a fake tooth/spacer if need be.  I will see what the speech path says before we make a decision.

So, maybe ask your speech path their thoughts?
