bed sharing & swaddling

We have bed shared since the beginning, and didnt ever swaddle DS because he didnt like his arms confined. While at daycare they swaddle him for naps and they can get anywhere from 1-2 1/2 hour naps,which were unheard of in our house before then i have since started swaddling for naps on the weekends and can get the occassional 2 hour nap..my question is- for those of you who bedshare, do you swaddle your little one? I would worry he would get too hot since he is in our bed with our body heat too, but wondering if this would also extend his night sleeping. He is still up every 3 hours or even less at night, toss and turning or wanting to nurse. any suggestions welcome!!

I did not swaddle while bedsharing, but I did if he was going in his crib. It's not safe while bedsharing; the baby needs to be able to "defend" himself and move around if he gets squished.

I wouldn't bedshare and swaddle. I feel that it would be too easy for him to roll over because of my weight next to him pushing down on the bed a little. Does that make sense?

When we swaddle, baby goes in his bedside co sleeper. We take the swaddler OFF when he comes into our bed. He needs to be able to defend his space in our bed.

I did swaddle DD , she slept part of the night in her bassinet and then the rest of the night with me. But she always slept in the crook of my arm and never moved.
