January 2012 Moms

Why is it...

...that every time I put DS down for a nap, every project I was in the middle of goes un-done, and I just want to sit down for an hour and do nothing?!

You would think I would use his nap time to finish up my 400 projects so I don't have to worry about them any more, but man... I do love putting my feet up and not worrying about a crazy 19 month old!

While i'm at it, here's my current to-do list:

 Bake Cookies

Mop Floor while waiting for cookies to bake

Finish folding laundry while eating cookies

Start sanitizing bottles/pump parts while enjoying my freshly cleaned kitchen

Figure out better way to organize bottle parts

Re: Why is it...

  • I vote you bake the cookies, and just sanitize the bottles.  I used a few sandwich bags to help organize the bottle supplies.  Keep it to the essentials, I think putting your feet up is important (as my feet are up right now in your honor!).

  • Well, I just put DS down for a nap and I'm laying in bed bumping, so clearly I am no help. :) I seem to get the motivation to clean around 10pm, so let's hope that is the case again tonight.
  • Glad the subject of sanitizing bottle parts etc. came up.  That is on my list for today, but I am a FTM so I need so info.  Did you boil or just put them in the dishwasher?  Then how do you store them?  I have a whole cabinet for his bottle stuff, but I am afraid they will get yucky again if he takes 3 more weeks to arrive.  I saw someome wrote zip lock bags, did you use these for bottles too?  THanks!

  • Give yourself a break--it is A LOT of working growing another human! I cannot imagine doing it with a 19month old! Put your feet up and relax!

  • Hehe thanks for the encouragement! I DID bake my cookies, and finished mopping while they cooled...

Put my feet up and enjoyed the hell out of them.

As for sanitizing the bottles/nipples, I boiled them last time and plan on doing it again. I don't make it a habit...generally I just want all the crap off them that has accumulated from 20+ months of use/storage by DS.

Normally on the day-to-day we wash them in the dishwasher and I run a "sanitize" rinse cycle on them.

This is the basket we got for the dishwasher, it's perfect because we use all Doc. Brown's, and it holds the straws on the sides.

  • Ugh, I was just saying today how much I think in my head I can get done, but then I waste it during her nap or when she goes down at bedtime.  I also get a burst at night right before I go to bed, but all that other time wasted :(

I've pretty much been up until 1 or 2am every night for the past week when my nesting kicked in. But, it's only night nesting. lol
