Late Term and Child Loss

Sooory- forgot our weekly Healthy Living Check in again...

I swear I will be better at this after the holidays!  These two weeks have just been crazy!

Please feel free to write about how your week went physically, emotionally, mentally... Anything you are proud about or need to vent about.  If you have never posted before but would like to join, please feel free. This is a very casual check in for anyone who wants to participate!

I didn't do anything toward my physical goals and decided I am not going to worry about it until after the new year begins.  So hopefully my next week's check in will have some positive news.  The one thing I do want to share is that I am not obsessing about the fact that I didn't do anything and I'm kind of proud that I was able to just let go and enjoy food for a couple of days without worrying how much I will (and most certainly have) gained.

  • I had a good week, I'll only go as far back as I remember... Tuesday eliptical at the gym, wednesday big long hike w/ DH, Thursday and Friday eliptical at the gym.  I've started to get to where I'm losing about 1 lb a week.  I was doing better emotionally before I POAS this morning so I knew if I could drink tonight or not... it's day 29 of my cycle and I got a BFN.  Guess I can drink.

  • No, we got Pg the first time really quickly without charting (thought I was so lucky, little did I know...) so we are going to see if we can be so lucky again.  I've also only had one AF since Peyton was born, so I don't know yet if I've regulated or not.  Ugh, just sucks.

  • I understand.  Both of my pregnancies were "accidents" and that's how I was hoping to be forever.  Yeah right.  I just figured I would start charting, you know, to stress myself out...

To make you feel better, I o'ed on CD 21 so maybe you o'ed later than you think.

  • Yea, I know it's possible, I'm just tired of being hopeful and then getting let down.  When we got Pg with Peyton it was just by having sex whenever I was in the mood, I guess my drive was very sensitive to ovulation b/c it worked in 1 month.  I actually was "in the mood" super late in my cycle and we did BD, so even though I POAS so I could drink tonight if I wasn't pg, I probably still won't drink much.  ::sigh::  It does make me wonder if I should chart just to get rid of this feeling of having no idea what's going on with me... I just feel like it would be an added stress.  Seems like a double edged sword right?

  • Charting is definetly stressful. The only reason I'm doing it is so we can catch any form of oing while he's home. Which is not going to happen for a while
  • ::Jumping in::

It is a double edged sword IMO.  It's comforting knowing what's going on but I know if I see any discrepancies I tend to freak out.  I have been charting for 5 years now (we actually use it as our birth control) and I do get my cycle at this point, but I fluctuate a lot and it still makes me nervous when I don't feel like what I am charting is my "normal".  Hope that makes sense. It's a completely personal decision, but if you do think you may ever want to chart it does take some time to get the hang of it, so you may want to start sooner than later.  If you do want to start and have any questions feel free to PM me, I know sometimes it's nice to be able to troubleshoot to someone who's been doing it a while.

  • Thank you ladies! For now, I'm going to stick with not charting and just try to keep my POAS addiction under control...this month has taught me it's better to just wait either for AF or until it's quite late.

    P.S.

per the OP, just got back from the gym! Have lost 5.5 lbs since I joined our local YMCA!

  • OT: We "accidentally" got pregnant our both times as well.  I'm now worried that because it was so easy the first two times that it will be a challenge now.  So I've started to chart and started to stress about it all.  *sigh*

This week was a mixed bag for exercise.  I ran a few times, even when we were out of town on our anniversary trip, but didn't keep to my training schedule.  My eating wasn't great but it wasn't awful, except for our anniversary dinner at Fogo de Chao - holy meat coma!!

Emotionally it has been a bit difficult but I think part of it is the anxiety from charting, having PMS, not getting pregnant our first cycle after Sylvie, and not consistently exercising.

On the up side, I ran in our local Resolution Run 5k today and got my fastest time ever.  Yay me!

  • Can I join?  I started WW almost 2 weeks ago and am finally motivated to lose some weight and get healthier!  Last week I lost almost 2 lbs and I weigh in tomorrow to see what I lost this week.  I'm going to try to take it easy tonight with the eating, but it's going to be so tempting to eat junk!  I've also been running every other day - short distances for now.  I'm hoping to build up to do a 5k in Feb.

  • I've been going back to the gym and spending time with dh and my 3 year old. So I guess that is a step.
