I am in the Lake Norman area and there is a pretty active one here, www.lakenormanmommies.com. I am pretty sure there is also a Charlotte mommies group too!
A lot of neighborhoods have them -- ask around at the nearest playground, and search "your-neighborhood's-name + mommies" on facebook & google & such. Some are also run through meetup.com or charlottemommies.com I think. Most churches have mom groups too.
