Soooo, i've been sick as a dog since before christmas...first it was a cold, that turned into a massive case of tonsilitis and now, hand foot and mouth. DD was the second case of hfmd at her daycare last week and I guess since I never had it as a child, I got it from her. And my case? About fifty times worse than hers. the blisters on my hands and feet are so numerous and painful i can barely walk or do anything! if you have had this, or your kiddo had a particularly bad case, how did you take care of it? i know it's a virus so there's nothing i can do but let it run its course, but is there something i can do to "calm" the blisters down? and how long do they hang around? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
ps sorry about the caps, im on my very fickle blackberry.
Re: anyone have hand foot and mouth disease as an adult?
OMG I had the same thing, over the whole last week. Began with chills, low fever, sore throat, body aches. Progressed to EXTREME tonsillitis over xmas eve/xmas, then Monday started with the blisters and THEY HURT!. Finally about 3 days after the blisters came, I started feeling better. Now the blisters are calluses and look gross and annoying.
At least I didn't overeat on the holidays, cause I couldn't eat anything.
Feel better!
