Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Any one year olds using the exersaucer still?

My LO is nearly one, and we still have our exersaucer out. He is only in it for about 30 min. total a day (when I'm getting stuff done and need him to be immobile!), so I'm wondering if we should just pull the trigger and take it to storage. Are any of you still using yours and getting good use out of it?

Re: Any one year olds using the exersaucer still?

  • DD still uses it and loves it. Once she hits the maximum weight we'll stop using it though.
  • Loading the player...
  • we stopped using ours about the time she started crawling. DD just wouldnt put up with it anymore. but we could get her to do "quiet time" in the pack n' play when i needed to cook or something. that way she could still wiggle around, crawl a little and stand up but she was contained in a safe place.

  • Mine stopped using the exersaucer and jumperoo around 9 months....boohoo

If she was still interested I would def let her use them for awhile

I didnt know there was a maximum weight! Duh--I better check that out.

DD still goes in there when I take a shower and DH isn't home. She's only in there for about 10 minutes and she still kinda likes it.

ETA--I just checked and the weight limit is 25lbs for ours and DD was 28 lbs at her 15 month check up. OOOPS. Mommy fail.

  • We stopped using it around 9 mos too when she got more mobile. She just does not like to be confined. I think if he still likes playing in it, then why not keep it out?
  • Once LO could crawl, he had no interest in the jumperoo, so it went downstairs.

instead I put up the pack and play and used it as "baby jail" if I need to confine him for a few minutes to go and throw a load of laundry in or something.

  • Yep, we use ours every day.
To my boys:  I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
  • We still use ours if we are showering or something that requires him to be immobile. He likes it as long as it's only a short time. At our 12 month appt he was 20 pounds and 30" tall, so I know we're ok on weight but I'll have to check about height restrictions.
  • We quit using it for a few months since he's so tall in it. Now he runs up to it all the time and plays the songs so we put new batteries in it for him on Christmas. I pulled it out to use in the kitchen once when he was only interested in cupboards and I really should do it more often.

  • This is going to sound ridiculous, but DD is 2 and I still put her in it so I can shower.  She doesn't mind and I don't have to worry about what she's getting into.   She can completely stand in it and the toys are mostly too young, so I put books around it.

  • We have the Exersaucer that turns into an activity table once they're too big/no longer interested in bouncing in the saucer. We converted it when DS was about 10 months old and he LOVES walking around the table and playing with the toys.

  • DS hasn't been in one since at least 9 months.  He didn't crawl until 10.5 so I took it away to encourage him to move more.  Plus, he didn't really LOVE being in them anyway.  He does like to pull up and play with them though.  Now he's 13.5 months and not walking so maybe I should just quit picking him up.

  • I have no plans to put ours away, they both like to sit in them and chill while watching Barney, though we probably only do that once or twice a week I still feel like they need to be kept out. We'll never hit the weight limit for anything, so I'm not even worried about that lol

  • We were well done with it by then.  LO started walking at around 11 months and he was out of it for sure by then.

  • I wish. As soon as LO could crawl it was put in the attic - she wouldn't go near it. Now the PnP and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse are my BEST friend. :)

  • Once a LO can stand flat footed on the tallest setting, you are not supposed to use it anymore.  It causes hip problems. Both of my LO's were able to stand flat footed in theirs a few months before they turned one, so that is when we retired the exersaucers.

  • Around 9 months, DS was not a fan--It coincided with crawling. We officially retired it at 10.5 months. I am very thankful he still likes his pnp in the kitchen(I will cry when he starts climbing out of it!)

We stopped using it around 7-8 months. My daughter started crawling and standing up around 6 months and would try and climb out of the exersaucer, so it turned into a walk around toy that she could play with. Then she didn't like the jumperoo. She'd jump in it for about a minute, then would want out to crawl around :( It was great while it lasted though. This is also the kid who hated her bouncer and her swing. I wish I would have known that before we spent all the money on them! Oh well. Hopefully the next kid will get more use out of them!
