Labor? a little tmi

So yesterdays doctors appointment I had an internal and he also swept my membranes, The baby is in station -3 with me being 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced. After the appointment I had a lot of cramping/ contractions but nothing to count. As of today: I haven't lost my mucus plug, or at least I don't think so. I've had more white/clear mucus coming out this afternoon but no bloody show, and I've also been peeing more (smells sweeter too). Could this be a sign labor is coming soon? Also, can your water break before you lose your mucus plug? TIA!

    I'd say it doesn't hurt to call your doctor about the sweeter smelling pee.  They can do a test to see if it's amniotic fluid.  Or if you'd rather wait, try putting on a pad and see if it gets soaked quickly.  If it does, then definately give your doc a call to let them know.  I'm not sure if your water can break before losing your mucus plug, but I know it's possible to start labor before you lose your plug.

    I never lost my mucous plug with DS, my water broke and I went into labor later that day. I have no idea what happened to my mucous plug at all? I think they say that sometimes it just gradually decreases and comes out as discharge?
