I had my first internal a few weeks ago - nothing exciting, I'd say even better than a pap.  Went to work afterwards.

 

The second was today.  No pain, but I'm only 1 cm and 40%.  Which kind of made me want to cry, I just had it in my head that this baby would come this weekend (an odd thought, since my due date isn't until Wednesday).

 

Afterwards though....holy!  So sore that I could barely get out of the car.  And two pees later I had what I think is bloody show, but is that just from the internal?

    My doc told me after my first and second that I would have some bleeding due to agitation of the cervix.

    Don't get too down on yourself yet, my cousin went from 0-10 in less than a day!!  Maybe you'll have the New Years baby and get a bunch of free stuff!!

    yup its probably from the internal. its totally normal to spot after one, even a day later. with DS I spotted after each one. This time I didn't spot after my 36 week one, opted out of 37 week one, and spotted after the 38 week one which was yesterday. my office even writes this on their "OB timeline" so people don't freak out "spotting may occur after internal exam".
