  • My family did lots of goofy stuff that I never see texans do.  We'd shake my dad's wallet outside right after midnight for wealth, eat a giant new year's pretzel, and do a shoeless lap around the house (in Pittsburgh that usually meant in the snow) for health.

Do people here bang pots and pans at midnight?

    .
  • We are usually just a black eyed peas family... but this year a friend bought us a sage stick so we're planning to drink champagne and "cleanse" us and the house with the sage stick.  I need this year to be over!  Bring on 2012.

I grew up in the NW and we used to bang pots and pans at midnight. I haven't seen it here, though.
