DD hasn't nursed in over a week now. She just up and stopped one day last week and hasn't nursed since, except for one 4 am session. If I even try to put her in cradle hold, she screams and starts kicking. I thought it was teething related, but the teeth don't look that close. For a couple of days, she wouldn't take a bottle or even try a sippy cup, but she's been taking a bottle yesterday and today. She takes it sitting up, so I'm thinking something is off.
Anyhow, anyone survived this? Tips? I had this happen with DS and he just started nursing again after about a week. It's killing me because I'm off work this week, and it's really hard to pump all the time while I'm home with the kids. Plus, I'm getting a clogged duct and having a hard time getting rid of it while pumping. Boo.
Re: ugh, nursing strike
Wish I could help! DD has been on a nursing strike for about two weeks now. I just make sure I pump 4-5x a day and try not to force it. On a side note (just got off a plane) - I was told by a flight attendant who said she finally just had to spend hours rocking and waiting for her LO to cry it out and kind of give up until she latched. I might have to resort to that and see if that works tomorrow.
Oh and I'm going to try the vegimite/marmite idea. Good Luck!!
Nursing strikes are common around the 9-10 month mark. Have you gotten your pp AF yet? It might be that there's been some kind of dip in your supply. Also, for us, it was a cold. DD had one before I realized it, and then she'd only nurse if her head was elevated (which might explain the sitting up you're seeing).
You might try nursing when your LO is very drowsy--her defenses might be down. Or in the bathtub.
And pump to keep your supply up!
Hang in there!
