Safe anti-depressants

Does anyone know for a fact which anti-depressant is safe to take while TTC and if you are pregnant?

My RE wants me to make sure I am on the correct medication before starting my next cycle.  Everyone she tells me to call gives me the run around or doesn't know the answer.

I am currently on Prozac and went off it during my other cycles, but became incredibly depressed, especially after my BFNs.

I am not sure why this answer is so difficult to find!  lol.  Help :-)

TTC Since 10/2007 with no luck and a 'go with the flow' attitude

10/2010 - Still low (but improved) sperm count.
11/30/10 - IUI #1 and only = BFN
February 2011 - IVF #1 w/ ICSI =
Chemical PG (Beta 1: 10, Beta 2: 19, Beta 3: 17) :-(
April 2011 - IVF #2 w/ ICSI = BFN :-(
September 2011 - IVF #3 w/ ICSI = BFFN
November 2011 - AMH level tested - .83 (normal for age range)
February 2012 - IVF #4 w/ ICSI = (best response ever yet still) BFFN
April 2012 - DNA testing - NORMAL, RE suggests cycling again with own eggs or using DE
On Break indefinitely...not sure we can afford the emotional and financial roller coaster anymore.

I'm not a psychiatrist, but I am a therapist who is on an ati-depressant thanks to IF.  I take Zoloft which is one of the safer ones to take when TTC or pregnant.  Another one commonly prescribed to women in our situation is Celexa.  GL!

Zoloft is generally considered to be the safest for women who are TTC'ing or pregnant.  I have been on it since right before our first IVF cycle and am still on it.  I did reduce my dose while pregnant just because there are some risks associated with it just like any medication and I only wanted to be on the amount I really needed.

    Take care!

I take Celexa.  I've always been told that it's more harmful to not be on them.  The stress and depression is worse then the meds.  I hate being on them but I need them because of stupid IF.

I have suffered mild depression most of my life.  I am currently back on Celexa (I got off while TTC) since I had some mild baby blues after having Jack.  My OB didn't want me to take any chances and said that I need to be on for a minimum of 6 months postpartum.

I am doing an IVF cycle right now as well and taking Celexa.

I was told by my PCP that pro. zac was the safest since it had been around the longest but I keep seeing commercials for lawsuits if your child had birth defects. I don't think they know at all....
