Getting Induced

So I went to my OB today and had my first internal - baby has not dropped and there is no dilation - but at my NST for the past two weeks the baby's heartrate has been really high and this week my fluid level went from 14 last week to 9 this week.  The OB said they will not let me go a day past 39 weeks - so no matter what I will be having a baby in 3 weeks - maybe less depending on if my fluid goes lower next week.  So I guess it could be any time now - I better get my hospital bag in the car.

    Hope your fluid levels dont go down anymore. Hopefully you can make it to 39 weeks.

    I had low fluid levels with DD. they just had me drink LOTS of water and it came back up a tiny bit, and stayed steady at 10ish.

    Wow it looks like you've been through a lot! GL and hope ur LO comes out on his own. Even if you end up with a c, at least you will have him with you!

    why on earth can't you go past 39 weeks?  I would think they'd want you to go to forty?

    I would assume it has to do with low fluid levels.  I have NST monitoring twice a week and was told fluids need to be between 10 and 20.  Mine have been in the high-middle range, so very good.  If she is at a 9 she is in a range that could signal a problem, along with the heart rate being too high.  It sounds like a medical decision, not a decision of convenience.
