Level 2 Ultrasound?

Anyone had this yet? They said the baby has slight renal fullness i.e. her kidneys are not draining to her bladder. I'm not too worried. They said it was very common and often resolves on its own. What should I expect at the Level 2 ultrasound?

Re: Level 2 Ultrasound?

  • My Level II is on Wednesday due to a stubborn baby who would not show her face/ head during my 20w scan.

From what I've heard, it's similar to a typical u/s but with "better" equipment and more in depth looks.

  • When I had my NT scan for the 1st Trimester Risk Assessment, it was billed from Yale as a Level 11 Ultrasound.

  • You usually get a level II u/s with your a/s. Better look at LO ;] easier to get measurements and so on.

  • Since I have to see a specialist, I get level 3 u/s.  They are pretty much the same as regular u/s, just a lot more detail/clarity.  In my experience, the techs have been a lot more serious.  I feel like it's all business during these, and that is to be somewhat expected.  Hopefully this isn't your experience!  GL.

  • My friend had one because her son had fluids on his kidneys and they said it is very common. Everything is fine with her son but they did a level 2 u/s to be on the safe side.

  • I had this in South Korea yesterday and it seems like it is pretty much anatomy scan. It was really in depth and really long and they checked his face, heart, brain, spinal cord, digestive system, everything for abnormalities and defects.
