Rachel's ultrasound on Friends...

So we have our first ultrasound on January 10th and I'm scared... Does anybody watch Friends and seen the episode where they do the ultrasound of Rachel's baby, and she can't see the baby? And then she cries and thinks she's a bad mom? I'm kind of scared that's going to be me. I really want to be able to make out the shape of my baby, but what if I can't? I'm going to be pretty bummed, especially if hubby can.

    You'll be fine at 15 weeks! It definitely looks like an unmistakable baby!

    My u/s around 7 weeks looked like a lima bean, and I couldn't begin to tell you which end was supposed to be the head.  However, all of the later u/s (including 1 at 11 wks, 5 days) were a lot more clear.  Since you're further along with your first u/s, you shouldn't have a problem.

    You will see your baby. It is much clearer in person than pictures.

    Thanks! I feel like I have been over thinking pretty much everything lately. I'm sure I'm driving my husband nuts. I am already an indecisive person, and now it seems to be getting worse lol.

    At this point you won't be able to pull a Rachel.  Your baby is going to look like a baby.

    After our ultrasound at 11w5d, DH said that when he saw other people's ultrasounds, he could never figure out where the baby was and it always looked like a blob but he could see our baby clear as day. He said he didn't know if it was the ultrasound and the baby being clear and obvious or if it was because it was HIS baby. But I know he was worried he wouldn't be able to tell what was what. SO if DH could see our baby clear as anything at 11w5d, I'm sure you'll have no problem with your ultrasound!

    You're far enough along that it will be extermely clear.

    LOL. Don't worry, at 15 weeks your baby will be crystal clear in the u/s.  (See my siggy.  The picture was taken at 12 weeks).
    TTC since August 2009
    June/July 2011 - IVF #1 - Transfer cancelled due to OHSS
    23 perfect embryos. All 23 made it to freezing!
    September/October - FET #1 - October 12th - 2 Grade A embies
    October 20th - BFP??! EDD - July 1, 2012
    Beta #1 = 154, Beta #2 = 352 Beta #3 = 3,800
    U/S #2 - November 14th = 133 bpm! U/S #3 & 4 - November 30th and December 7th = 163 bpm! U/S#5 - January 30th - TEAM PINK!!!

    Just want to say that if you have an anterior placenta that is in the way you may have trouble seeing the baby.  I did not have a clear picture of my daughter throughout my entire pregnancy.  Even at 37 weeks I couldn't see a damn thing because of the positioning of the placenta and I guess also it depends on the U/S tech.  I was always jealous of the moms that had perfect pictures of their baby's face in utero.  But I was so happy when I finally saw her gorgeous face when she was born :)

    DD born 6.13.11 at 37w5d

    DS born 5.23.12 at 36w5d

    BFP 6.9.13|heartbeat of 128bpm 7weeks|7.23.13 ultrasound revealed no heartbeat|natural m/c and d&c 7.25.13

    DS born 5.20.14 at 38 weeks
