Bloodwork Results
I don't think it's good, but they haven't analyzed them, yet, and the doc's not in yet to look at it. They said they'd call me back. My last draw was on 12/20. Then, my HCG was 4,163 and prog. was 12.
Yesterday, 9 days later, my HCG is only up to 13,908. If it were doubling every 72 hours, it should be up to 33,304 yesterday. It is supposed to double every 48-72 hours, right? My Prog. was down to 9.2! My heart is sinking, but I'm trying not to give up until I hear what the doc has to say. I'm trying not to kick myself for not requesting another draw between the 20th and yesterday after my progesterone dropped from 16.4 to 12. Though I know that fluctuates through the day, I wasn't happy with that number.
The nurse I talked to wasn't my doc's nurse, she's out today. The one I talked to was all like "Your HCG is high." BS it's high. Not from the 4,163 it was nine days ago!
Just holding out hope until I hear the official word from the doc. Did anyone else have anything similar to this and have a successful pregnancy?

How far along are you?
The numbers don't look bad to me though I am not an expert. I would request a script for progesterone. I know after a certain point in time the numbers stop doubling so I am curious as to how far you are.
When is your next u/s? Hang in there hun, I know this is hard. Sending you lots of t&p's. (Hugs)

I should only be 7 weeks today. Since I was measuring a week behind yesterday, they took blood and set up a second u/s for Tuesday.

I did check out betabase. I'm horrible with math, so I would have no idea how to figure out the percentage increase over a certain number of hours. I should be 35 dpo and the chart on betabase only goes up to 30 dpo, but some of the other things I've looked into on there and elsewhere have made me feel a little bit better about this whole thing. Mine are higher than some other recorded HCG levels that went on to have successful pregnancies.
When I plugged my beta numbers into betabase, here's what i get:
One thing I read is that higher than 10,000 at 8 weeks is considered normal and that it could start to taper off around 8 weeks. Hoping he'll just call and want to put me on progesterone. If he doesn't, I'll ask for it. Definitely not liking 9.2 there when the low normal is 9. Then, hoping to see more than what we saw yesterday on Tuesday.

I would check out the hcg chart that someone posted, I know there is a big range. Sending you lots of positive vibes and prayers that everything is ok. (((Hugs)))

It does begin to plateau and then taper back down. I'm not sure of when all of that starts happening. Also, progesterone rises and falls throughout your day so that might not be awful. Are you on progesterone supplements? Even on it, one of my levels was 11 or 12.
Not yet. Hoping my doc wants to put me on some today just for my own peace of mind until Tuesday.

Once they get that high they start to slow down. Check out my betas. In the beginning they were doubling like every 20 something hours. After I hit the 4,000's the doubling took took double than what they had been doing (like 48ish hours). They stopped checking my betas before I got as high as you did.
Try not to stress about the progesterone either. That can fluctuate day by day hour by hour.

I am praying everything is just fine, Maxsom.
My betas were not doubling in the beginning... But that was at about 4 weeks pregnant, so a little different, but I did have fluctuating betas and now have healthy LO.

Remember, ultrasounds are MORE accurate than betas... After my experience, I hate betas.

Please hold on to that hope. After your levels get to 1200, normal double time is much much higher. Since your progesterone wasn't taken first thing in the morning, it is going to be a bit lower. If you have eaten before you get your progesterone, it can read 50% below where your levels average throughout the day.

Doubling time significantly slows down over time as they get higher. Your numbers don't sound bad. As far as progesterone, it fluctuates throughout the day.

I know it is so hard but hold onto that hope. Your numbers are still rising so that's positive and as others have pointed out progesterone fluctuates throughout the day so try not to let that make you too worried. If it makes you feel better I think you should ask the dr for supplements.
