We were just thinking about this last night cause my DD asked what her other name would have been. LO was supposed to be either Maya Rose or Alianna. We had thought about using Leia but did not even think it was in our top three. When I started having early contractions that's when we went back to Leia. Funny how it happened and we are happy we did. Just curious how it worked out for you ladies.

Re: Was LO's name your first choice?
When I first was pregnant, I was considering the name Charlotte. I didn't like the nn Charlie, and Lottie matches my last name. We also have a very common last name, and I didn't want her to have a name that was so popular.
We ended up with "baby no name" for most of my pregnancy, finally deciding to go the religious name route. We picked up some Catholic baby name books and agreed on Emelia around 7months pregnant. I love her name, and I love that it has a religious conotation. It also has a good meaning and is from the 1800s, which solidified our choice.
Once we narrowed it down to our Top 3, it was my favorite. However it took MH a few weeks to get on board with that name (for him, it was a toss-up between Myles and Ethan).

nope, not at all. It wasn't even really in consideration during the whole pregnancy. The night before I had her we were going through the long list of names we put together over the 9 months or so and it was on there. Mike said he really like it and I said I didn't dislike it. A day and a half after she was born we finally made the decision that Callie was her name.
My first choice was Audrina, although it wouldn't fit her now that I know her. MH really liked Madison and that was probably his first choice. I vetoed that.
I made a list of 6-7 names that I liked that worked with DHs last name. Middle name was going to be Rose or Rosalie after my grandmother.
DH liked Hannah the best off my list. So we went with Hannah Rose.
Yes, we had talked about the name Kaitlyn while we were dating and it never changed over the years. When we found out we were having a girl, there was no discussion. We didn't decide on a middle name until I was in labor at the hospital, she was 3 weeks early so we thought we had more time.
We used our favorite girl name up so if we have another girl, we're really going to have to research it.

Reed (Reid) is my top boy name, so if we have a boy next time, I'm hoping DH will be on board with it. I love Cole too, but one of my cousins already used the name.

The only thing we couldn't agree on was the spelling. I wanted to spell it Reid and DH wanted it spelled Reed. As you can see, DH won that battle!

It wasn't even in the top 3 initially! Korina was our first choice...and then we watched the Next Great Baker and the chick on there named Korina was kinda mean. We also planned on calling her Kori for short... But I went to HS with a Kori and she was mean... So the name didn't have a good vibe for us anymore... So we started thinking up new names... I was really leaning towards Katerina...but when we found Kalista and saw the meaning we knew that was the one. We altered the spelling to fit more in line with the nickname, and we were set!
If she would have been a boy it would have been much easier to pick the name. I had Kiefer picked out from day one and never swayed from that name!
It was between Hannah and Molly and my husband picked Molly because her middle name, Frances, sounded better with Molly (in his opinion). Honestly, when she was born for the first two weeks I would look at her and think 'you look just like a Hannah'.
Other names I loved were Eleanor, Charlotte and Maggie.

DD was easy I had alsways wanted a Zoe. It took some convincing to get DH to agree but now he says he couldn't imagine any other name fitting her.
As for DS we couldn't agree on a boy name AT ALL. He liked Anthony and Vincenzo. I had picked Teo but DH didn't like it. Neither of us hated Matteo and it was the closest we could come to an agreement. The name suits him well and DH and I are both very glad we picked it.
BTW we call him Teo as a nick name so I kind of ended up getting my choice anyway

For DD1 it was H's pick (his deceased Godmother's name) and I still regret that I committed to a name so soon. I honestly thought we would have a boy and it wouldn't be an issue, lol (we were Team Green).
To this day I really wish we picked Isabelle instead of Isabella for DD1. She just isn't an Isabella.
For DD2 it took us forever to come to a decision, but Olivia was always in the top 5. DD3's name (Catherine) was a left over from DD2's name list.
Violet was our original choice and then we both started questioning it. I wanted Adele and DH wanted Elizabeth, in the end, we just went with Violet.
We were team green but had Jacob and Elizabeth picked out since high school. We then decided it would be Jacob Alfred, Alfred after my FIL and Elizabeth Love, my mother's maiden name. For most of the pregnancy, he was referred to as "Jacob Elizabeth". :-)
There were lots of team green June mamas! Love.
We were also Team Green and went to the hospital with a short list for each sex. My favorite girl names were Rose and Sylvia. MH's were Sylvia and Cora. We knew we were going to use Josephine for the MN (it's a family name). When MH said, "It's a girl!" I said, "Hello, Sylvia." Then I turned to him and said, "Right?" He took some time to think about it and, honestly, I think Rose would really fit her too, but he agreed she was a Sylvia. I adore her name and we get compliments on it all the time.
DD's name was our 2nd choice. The first choice was Avery but it's too popular for us and DH's BFF's daughters name as well. We named DD Lana (Alana) after my mom.
For DS, his name wasn't even in the top 10. Our top 4 were, Benjamin, Andrew, Keene, and Max. We didn't feel like he matched those and went back to the drawing board and picked his name out of a name book. DS's name is Asher.

We were both set on Stella Marie from the beginning. No particular reason just we both loved the name!
I should add we were 'team green' until the end, but never could agree on a boy's name so thankfully we had a girl!
