PT phase 1

I started  potty training this week and we are makaing steady progress (despite 6 pairs of uinderwear the 1st day  and a pregnancy induced  hormonal crying fit courtesy of momma.)  He is telling me when he has to pee and we have had no pee accidents today but he pooped twice today in his underwear.  Is this normal? is he focusing to much on the pee. Also he usually poops at least once  every day but this week has been every other day, again is that normal? Thanks!!!
