Breastfeeding

need a little encouragement..

I feel sort of lame posting but here goes..  My LO is 9 1/2 months and I have been bf the whole time. We are having a heck of a time introducing solids cause she seems to seriously only want breast milk.  I am exhausted. I feel like I am pumping when away and then nursing her ALL the time. It's not every 4 hours like some others. I don't know what the deal is. She seems to be hungry a lot and of course my supply ( and patience) is dwindling. we offer solids 2-3 times a day with luck at one of those meals with more than a few bites. I am not concerned about her weight cause even though pedi said she was a little low she said it was fine. She's in the 22%.

I would love for her to eat more food so that I could nurse a bit less and feel less stressed about pumping enough milk for the next day.  I barely make it each time and end up running home. I was trying to avoid supplementing with formula but that may be what I need to do. I don't hava a question really I guess except does anyone have experience with this and if so what did you do?

TIA

Re: need a little encouragement..

  • My LO doesn't like food either. It seems like she will put everything in her mouth except for food. I never try more than once a day to get her to eat solids because it's just a waste, and sometimes I go days without offering. This is usually when I can get her to eat more than one bite. The best thing that I have tried is having other people feed her, she seems to accept it more from others. Hang in there mama, our LOs will eat when they are ready. Breast milk is all they really need for the first year anyway.
