I have about $20 in BRU rewards to use by Jan 13... I've pretty much bought everything we need - I think we have enough clothes/blankets/bibs/burp cloths/bottles/pacifiers... that sort of thing
Any suggestions on what to buy? Was there anything in the first week or two that you rushed out to get?
What about preemie clothes? I haven't bought any yet... my u/s last week showed them weighing 5lb3oz and 4lb4oz, so if I were to make it to 38 wks, I wasn't planning to buy any.
TIA!
Re: And 1 more Q - last minute baby purchases - suggestions?
My guys hardly fit in preemie clothes at 5lb10oz.
We ran out to get a billion things... let's see... nightlights? multiple swaddle sacs? mixing pitcher? a wall clock? white noise machine?
I'd skip the preemie clothes. Ours came home under 5 lbs and we only used the couple we were given for a week or two.
A white noise machine for sure!
Ours were in preemie clothes for a month, but I think they were just weird. We didn't buy any, and when we realized we needed them, we just ran to Target. I wouldn't plan for it.
What about some of the bath stuff? Lotion, shampoo, etc that you'll go through with the two of them in the long run?
Someone bought me an insulated holder that held two bottles. It was key for outings since I could make the bottles up ahead of time and know they were good for a little while. I also loved the formula dispenser that you could take out with you, with formula portioned out. Big, fluffy blankets were key those first few weeks because the babies laid on them or were covered by them, but also spit up on them so they got washed a lot.
I second swaddles and the white noise machine as well!
mylicon and gripe water, definitely!
For me, one thing this time around that has been a wonderful thing to have are the Car Seat Canopies by JJ Cole- I have the Black Magnolia pattern to match the silver frame of their carseats.

From the moment we were discharged from the NICU my babies were protected from germy hands and breath of curious "well wishers", and the way the weather is, it gives them a bit of draft protection to and from the van. So versatile!
I have a Graco Snug ride and they fit perfectly. I'll be buying them as gifts for other expecting friends from now on.
