Kids birthday's close together

My DH and I are trying for number 2. If we get pregnant next cycle DD and DC will be 11 days apart at the most (repeat c-section). I feel bad having there birthday's close together since there birthday weeks will be back to back. What would you do? Am I over analyzing it?

You're over thinking it. There's like a one in three chance of getting pregnant in any given month. And what's wrong with having their birthdays in the same month? We're planning on having shared birthday parties for as long as they will tolerate it. They'll each get a special meal and cake on their actual birthdays, but a combined birthday in between. But mine are a year apart and both boys.

Yeah, I wouldn't even think about it until after you are pg.

Our LOs b-days are 1.5 months apart..and in between are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. It's terrible, esp since DH's family expects HUGE parties.

I have 3 step children whose birthdays are all a week apart (9/17, 9/24, & 10/1). They get 1 big birthday celebration. They are fine with it at this point but we gear it more towards the oldest, who "gets" it a little more.

Now my baby is due Aug. plus mine & hubbies bdays are a week apart in Oct. Basically, August - October will be one big birthday celebration in our house.

I have a friend whose two boys are two years apart but have the same birthday. They haven't quite figured out what to do yet, but I'm sure they'll find a way to make it special for each child.

I'm sure you'll find a way to make it special for each of them even if it is close together.

My sister and I are exactly 5 years and 6 days apart, and my brother rand I are less than 11 months apart. All three of our birthdays fall within 5 weeks of each other. My other two sisters birthdays are less than a month apart. It was not and is not a big deal. My mom just threw two big birthday parties a year, but everyone got their own cake/dinner on their actual birthday. We chose the meal, type of cake, and ice cream, and got out of doing dinner chores that day. None of us ever felt like our birthdays weren't special.

Thank you all so much for your input. I guess I am making it a bigger deal then it actually is. I was debating on taking an unwanted month off of ttc but now I think we'll go ahead and try.

I'd go for it. My kids bdays are 3 weeks apart, and I find it convenient especially in the younger years. Joint parties are so much easier especially since we like to go all out. When they're much older and request separate parties, we'll honor it but for time being it make life easier.

My sister and I have birthdays 15 days apart, it was really no big deal. My husband and his brother share the same birthday (they are 2 years apart) and I don't think either were bothered about it.

My current due date is the exact same due date as my LO, but LO came two weeks early. It took us a while to get pregnant with baby 1, so the last thing we were worried about when trying with baby 2 is how close their birthdays could be. Honestly, there are much bigger concerns to have, like will you get pregnant, will the baby be healthy, will you handle the pregnancy ok, etc. I wouldn't sweat the birthdays at all.

I wouldn't worry about it. My 2 boys birthdays are 2 months apart and DS2 is followed by Christmas a month later. We are TTC#3 right now and if I got pg this cycle my due date will be 1 day after DS1s birthday. I know that if the birthdays are close together we will do what we can to make sure they both know there birthdays are special.
