Augustus?

What are your thoughts on this?

DH and I love Gus. DS is Charlie and I think the two go really well together. We talked about Gus awhile ago with the full name being Angus. We couldn't get past the beef thing, so we abandoned it. Then my dad reminded me that his grandfather's name was Augustus. So...it would be a cool way to work in a family name. It just seems like such a mouthful for a little boy. Full name would be Augustus Patrick. WDYT?

I love it. DS2 is August and we call him Gus. I think Augustus is great, and I like that it's a family name (as is August for us). Plus, Gus and Claire sound really sweet together.

My sister plans on using Augustus if she ever has a boy, and she would call him Gus. I think it's great. It's super cute for a little boy, but it would follow him well through adulthood.

Makes me think of Augustus Gloop from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Ick!

My cousins have a one year old half-brother with this name and they call him Gus for short. I don't actually mind Gus...but Augustus is just such a huge name and kind of sounds ugly to me. Aug = ugly.

A friend named her son Angus and all I can think of is beef when I hear it.

I actually like Auggie as a nn though. I knew an Ogden who went by Oggie in high school. It was different and it suited him.
