Ok so when all of this stuff started with Sarah she was only pooping about once every 5 days. She is now going more often, but the poop has changed. She is now on some neocate formula so I expected her poop to turn green. It has been for a while now, but she just had a poop that was a deep forest green plus black stands in it. I am worried about the Black in the poop. I call her dr office and spoke with our least fav nurse (who fyi, really dislikes me and dh) and she told me not to worry it is normal, Sarah will be fine and to not worry.
I don't know if I really trust her or not. A couple of weeks ago, my dh sat down with our pedi and told him about some of the rude comments she had made to us and how she told us to lie about some things just to get free formula, so she wouldn't have to do the paperwork with the insurance. Ever since she has been very short with us and was told by our pedi that she is not to do anything with Sarah's case.
Should I trust her or should I worry? I was always told black was bad unless it was in a newborn.
Re: Baby poop question (maybe tmi) worry or not?
So sorry for the rude nurse!
DS has had very dark poop (almost black) since we started neocate. However, if there are black strands it could also be blood. I would trust your mommy instinct and call and speak to someone else.
It sucks feeling so helpless when something is wrong, I hope you guys find the answers you need soon.

Did you google it and see if any other moms experienced that with the specialized formula? And if so, if they went to the doctor, *and* possibly what the reason for the black is?
I think I would go with your gut, especially given your daughter's current situation. Like pp said, at least call back and ask to speak to a different nurse.
