Food Allergy

If your LO was on or is on Neocate...

how long until you saw results.

Cora just started it today for a suspected milk allergy.  She has been on Nutramigen since 1 month old, but started having bloody, mucousy diarrhea.  She has had terrible colic and stomach pains.

Praying this is her answer!

  • DS was put on Elecare around 12 weeks due to suspected MSPI(I bf with elimation diet and supplemented with Nutramigen prior).  We saw results within 24 hours! It was amazing.

Does your DS still have the MSPI or did he grow out of it by a year?

  • oh my gosh...let me tell ya'.  It was pretty tough with our DD.  We tried Neocate and she HATED it and would only take about 1-2 oz at a time.  It was like, hell on earth.  But finally after about a day or so, she finally took down about 3 oz...then she did it again two more times and I swear, after that 3rd bottle, we began to see CALMNESS and a relaxed LO.  It was awesome.  :)

  • We just started Neocate junior with my LO.  We were on Nutrimigen for the longest time until our nutritionist said it's not nutritionally sound for him anymore since he's almost 19 months.  All other milk alternatives have not worked for him because of his multiple allergies.  He HATED the taste at first so we have been mixing it with his Nutrimigen (suggested by dr) and he's been doing amazing.  We've made it to 70% now and he is doing fabulous!  Less crabby, eats more, still picky but better.  I LOVE Neocate!

I was worried about her not liking it also after reading some things about it.  However, she's always been an eater (even if it didn't agree with her).  She's already had 2, 4.5 ounce bottles.  I know that there is still milk protein in her and will be for a while, but after eating that second bottle her face just looked different.  I'm sure its me wishful thinking, but its like she was saying "thank you."

  • DD was put on Neocate at 6 weeks and we noticed a difference by the 2nd bottle that we gave her. There are days when she has trouble taking a bottle, but then the next day she eats all of it. Hope it works soon for her!

Nope. He is clear of MSPI. Per our Pedi GI, we started challenging him at 11 months with butter, yogurt, cheese, and then milk. No reactions. He is on milk and loooooooves it:)  So thankful!

  • withing 48 hours to start seeing a difference, probably 3 weeks before he was completely back on track.
